Jeep to add China‑built D‑SUV and expand European lineup to six models by 2030

Jeep, a core brand of Stellantis, unveiled a strategy to double its European range from two to six models by 2030. The plan adds two new B‑segment SUVs – a compact and a larger model – built on the STLA One platform, alongside the existing Avenger and Compass. An electric off‑road Recon, slated for launch in early 2027, will replace the Wrangler, which is being withdrawn from Europe due to stricter emissions rules. The flagship of the expansion is a D‑segment SUV developed with Chinese partner Dongfeng Motor; it will be produced at Dongfeng’s Wuhan plant and exported to Europe, with Stellantis stressing that the vehicle will retain a genuine Jeep DNA despite its Chinese origin. Pricing for the 2026 Recon EV was announced at a base MSRP of $65,000, positioning it against premium electric SUVs. The broader initiative is part of Stellantis’s €60 billion industrial strategy, deepening ties with Chinese manufacturers while aiming to protect market share against Asian competitors in the EU.
