Stellantis production rises 13.7% in Italy in first half of 2026

Stellantis reported a 13.7% increase in vehicle output in Italy during the first six months of 2026, assembling 252,223 units – 158,193 cars (up 27.7%) and 94,030 commercial vans (down 4%). The Atessa plant, Italy’s leading commercial‑vehicle site, produced 94,030 vans and will receive more than €1 billion of investment over the next five years to expand its capacity and introduce new large‑electric models. Overall sales in the Italian market grew 15.5% in the same period, giving Stellantis a 31.3% market share and an expected total of about 500,000 vehicles for the year.

Renault Italy also posted solid results, with volumes up 3.9% to 51,248 units, moving to fourth place in overall sales. Private‑customer registrations rose 15.4%, while orders grew 35%. Hybrid E‑Tech models recorded a 19% increase, and the new Twingo E‑Tech Electric reached over 1,000 orders within two months of launch.

The data, presented by the Fim‑Cisl union, highlight a recovery from the production slump of 2025 and underline the importance of continued investment, automation and electrification for Italy’s automotive sector.
