Stellantis negotiates Maserati partnership with Huawei and JAC Group

Stellantis is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Chinese technology giant Huawei and automaker JAC Group to establish a long-term industrial partnership for Maserati. The collaboration aims to address Maserati’s recent financial struggles, which include an adjusted operating loss of 198 million euros and annual deliveries falling below 8,000 vehicles.

A key component of the potential deal involves integrating Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility digital architecture into future Maserati models. This technology would provide advanced software, connectivity, and driver-assistance systems. The partnership could also feature a dual-branding strategy: vehicles might be sold under the Maextro brand in China while retaining the Maserati badge for international markets.

The agreement is expected to support production volumes at Maserati’s Italian plants in Modena and Cassino. If finalized, the first jointly developed model could enter production by late 2026 or 2027. Maserati is scheduled to present its long-term strategic plan in December.
