Stellantis phases out Fiat Tipo as Chrysler prepares new STLA One platform

Stellantis has removed the Fiat Tipo from its online configurator, signalling the end of production for the model that debuted in 2015. The compact sedan, built in Turkey and also sold in the Middle East and Mexico under the Dodge Neon badge, will only be available as remaining stock at dealerships. Its place in the lineup will be taken by the upcoming Fiat Grizzly SUV, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show and slated to launch later this year.

At the same time, Stellantis is aiming to revive the Chrysler brand with the introduction of the STLA One architecture. The new global platform will support a range of hybrid and electric powertrains and enable the development of fresh crossovers such as the Airflow, Arrow and Arrow Cross. Executives say the flexible architecture will give designers more freedom and help Chrysler compete in the North‑American market, while also serving as a core component of Stellantis’s broader vehicle strategy.

Both moves illustrate Stellantis’s effort to streamline its portfolio, phase out aging models, and invest in new platforms to meet shifting consumer demand for versatile, affordable vehicles.
