Stellantis plans major K9 van redesign and new launches at Vigo plant

Stellantis said its Vigo (Balaídos) plant will keep its current industrial plan, targeting a capacity rise to 80% and no plant closures as part of its 2030 roadmap that includes three new multienergy platforms. The plant, which expects a record 555,000 vehicles in 2025, is also preparing fresh model launches to meet cost and timing targets while seeking a stable labour framework and public‑private collaboration.

The company announced an important renewal of its compact K9 van, scheduled for 2028. The facelift will introduce a micro‑hybrid powertrain and a low‑cost K9 SCV variant. The update is part of the €60 billion FaSTLane 2030 plan that foresees eleven new commercial‑vehicle models, two multienergy van platforms and the autonomous “Box on Wheels” delivery vehicle to be shown at the IAA Hannover show. Stellantis also launched the Pro One NEXT service ecosystem to improve van operability for professional customers.
