Stellantis Signs New Solidarity Deal for 4,400 Workers at Melfi, Italy

Stellantis and worker representatives signed an extension of the Solidarity Contract (CDS) at the company's Melfi plant. The agreement, valid from 17 August 2023 until 31 December 2026, covers 4,409 employees and is intended to support a difficult production phase marked by technological change, high energy costs and heightened competition, especially from Chinese manufacturers.

The deal outlines a production roadmap that includes the DS 8e and Jeep Compass models currently in series, followed by the DS 7e and Lancia Gamma after the summer break. A new Alfa Romeo SUV is slated for pre‑series in 2027 and full production in 2028, bringing the Melfi site to five models across four Stellantis brands. Officials stress that continued governmental and regional support will be essential to boost competitiveness, increase output and sustain jobs throughout the local supply chain.
