Stellantis tops auto sales in Portugal and France in H1 2026
Stellantis cemented its position as the leading carmaker in Portugal during the first half of 2026, registering about 38,500 vehicles and capturing a 25.3% overall market share. In June alone the group sold 7,626 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, accounting for 25.7% of all new registrations and 41.3% of the light‑commercial segment. One in four new cars in Portugal originated from a Stellantis brand, with Peugeot 2008 and 208 being the top‑selling models. The company also led the electric‑vehicle market, delivering 8,039 BEVs and holding a 21.2% share.
In France, Stellantis finished the first half of 2026 with a combined 28.8% share of passenger‑car and light‑utility sales. The group’s strength came from hybrid models (34.2% share of simple‑hybrid sales) and a notable resurgence of Fiat, whose sales rose 38% in the semester and 44% in June, driven by models such as the Grand Panda and 500. Peugeot’s 208 remained the French bestseller, while Citroën and Opel contributed steady growth across their line‑ups.
