Stellantis launches €60 billion FaSTLAne 2030 plan to revamp product line and profit

Stellantis unveiled FaSTLAne 2030, a €60 billion five‑year strategic programme announced at its Investor Day in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The plan targets the launch of more than 60 new vehicle models and 50 major updates by 2030, including 29 battery‑electric cars, 15 plug‑in hybrids, 24 hybrids and the remainder conventional or mild‑hybrid powertrains. Around 70 % of the investment will be directed to four global brands – Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and FIAT – and to the Pro One commercial‑vehicle business, with the aim of boosting sales and margins in North America and Europe.

Key pillars include over €24 billion for new platforms, powertrains and software, the rollout of the modular STLA One architecture, and the integration of artificial‑intelligence systems such as STLA Brain, SmartCockpit and AutoDrive from 2027 onward. Stellantis will deepen partnerships with Leapmotor, Dongfeng, Tata, Jaguar Land Rover and other technology firms to accelerate development of autonomous‑driving and electrification technologies. Production efficiency will be improved, with European capacity trimmed by 800 000 units and plant utilisation lifted to 80 % by 2030. Regional targets call for 25 % revenue growth in North America and 15 % in Europe, with cost savings of €6 billion annually by 2028.

The announcement sparked a modest market dip, with shares slipping about 2 % on the day. Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Opel and other regional marques will continue to benefit from shared platforms, while DS and Lancia will become specialist brands under Citroën and FIAT, respectively.
