Stellantis unveils Lancia Gamma 2027 and recalls Ypsilon over emission issue

Stellantis presented the Lancia Gamma 2027, a new model that shares its bodywork with the Peugeot 3008 but carries distinctive Lancia front and rear styling, a revamped interior and a range of powertrains including a 1.2‑litre MHEV (145 hp), a plug‑in hybrid (225 hp) and fully electric versions (220‑325 hp) with batteries from 20 kWh to 98 kWh. The brand, now under Fiat’s wing, will target selected European markets such as Italy, Belgium and Spain, while its availability in Poland remains uncertain.

Separately, Lancia has launched a service campaign for 23,943 Ypsilon cars built between July 2015 and July 2018 after German regulator KBA identified software‑controlled exhaust‑system wear that can cause nitrogen‑oxide emissions to exceed limits. Authorized dealers will update the engine‑control module’s calibration; no major hardware replacement is required. The recall affects vehicles sold primarily in Italy but also throughout the broader European used‑car market, and it comes as Lancia’s future model lineup is being streamlined.
