STEM and technology workshops expand to rural Turkish villages

Various science and technology initiatives are being implemented in rural Turkish regions to enhance STEM education among children.

In Konya, the “Köyümde Bilim Var” (Science is in My Village) festival was held at Selçuklu Tepekent Primary School under the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Program for Village Schools. Managed by the Selçuklu Science and Art Center, the two-day event featured workshops in robotics, rocket making, 3D printing, and solar observation to foster scientific curiosity and practical learning skills in students.

Similarly, in Yalvaç, the municipality partnered with Koza Academy for the “In the Footsteps of the Future” project. This initiative brought coding, robotics, and 3D design workshops to children in Koruyaka Village. The program aims to ensure that children living in rural areas have equal access to modern technological training and to encourage them to become productive, inquisitive individuals.
