STEM and technology education initiatives in Turkey

Overview

STEM and technology education initiatives are expanding across various regions in Turkey. In rural areas such as Konya and Yalvaç, programs like the “Köyümde Bilim Var” festival and the “In the Footsteps of the Future” project have introduced children to robotics, coding, 3D printing, and rocket making to foster scientific curiosity.

Building on these efforts, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has launched a Technology, Robotics, and Engineering Workshop. This initiative provides youth with access to advanced tools, including 3D printers and robotic arms, to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and industry practices. The program also incorporates entrepreneurship training to encourage participants to transition from technology consumers to innovators.
