Steve Buscemi joins FX/Hulu's Far Cry TV adaptation
Actor Steve Buscemi has been added to the cast of FX’s live‑action adaptation of Ubisoft’s Far Cry video‑game franchise. He will appear alongside Rob Mac—who also stars and executive‑produces—and Lizzy Caplan. The series is being developed as an anthology, with each season set in a new location and featuring a new story, mirroring the game’s format.
The show is produced by FX Productions and will air on FX and stream on Hulu in the United States, with international distribution via Disney+. Executive producers include Noah Hawley (known for Fargo) and Rob Mac, joined by Simon Emanuel, Emilia Serrano, Nicholas Frenkel and others from Ubisoft Film & Television. No details about Buscemi’s specific role or a premiere date have been released, though filming is expected to begin later in 2026 with a possible release in late 2027 or early 2028.
Buscemi, an eight‑time Emmy nominee famed for roles in Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, The Big Lobowski and Boardwalk Empire, is represented by UTA and The Gotham Group.
