Steven Knight completes first script draft for new James Bond film

Screenwriter Steven Knight has confirmed that the first draft of the script for the next James Bond film is complete. Speaking on the UK’s Greatest Hits Radio, Knight indicated the milestone by nodding silently when asked if the draft was finished.

Knight, known for creating ‘Peaky Blinders’, described the project as a significant honor, stating it felt like a duty to his “King and country.” The upcoming film, which will be the 26th installment in the franchise, is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios and is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve.

The news comes amid intense speculation regarding who will succeed Daniel Craig as 007. While no official casting has been announced, Knight suggested that his writing process involves a balance between character development and the specific identity of the actor. Various names, including Jack Lowden, Jacob Elordi, and Callum Turner, have been frequently cited in casting rumors.
