Steven Knight hints next James Bond actor has been selected

Screenwriter Steven Knight has fueled intense speculation regarding the casting of the next James Bond. During an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Knight suggested that the identity of the actor succeeding Daniel Craig may already be known, noting that knowing the performer ‘does make life a little bit easier’ when writing the script, though he emphasized the need to write the character rather than the actor.

Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, described his work on the 26th Bond film as ‘doing my duty for King and country.’ The upcoming production, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and managed by Amazon MGM Studios, marks a significant transition for the franchise following the departure of long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

While Knight declined to name the actor, industry rumors and comments from Gary Oldman have pointed toward Jack Lowden as a leading candidate. Other names frequently mentioned in casting discussions include Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Harris Dickinson. Producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are overseeing the selection process, with an official announcement potentially arriving by the end of the year.
