Steven Wilson announces new single and upcoming album

Musician Steven Wilson has released a new single titled ‘A Basket Of Bees’ from his upcoming ninth studio album, ‘Requiem For A Village’. The album is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, under the Fiction Records label.

Wilson described the new musical direction as an attempt to embrace the ‘human element’ by utilizing analog synthesizers and organic instruments, intentionally avoiding AI and corrective studio technologies. The artist noted that he embraced imperfections and unpolished sounds, including playing instruments like the oboe, violin, and drums to achieve a more spontaneous, ritualistic feel inspired by the British countryside.

The album will be available in various formats, including CD, Blu-Ray, and multiple vinyl editions. The official video for ‘A Basket Of Bees’ is part of the ‘Village Hall Sessions’, featuring reinterpretations of album tracks by Wilson, Randy McStine, and Russell Holzman.
