Stevie Wonder announces 50th anniversary tour for ‘Songs in the Key of Life’

Stevie Wonder has announced an 18-date fall tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his landmark 1976 double album, ‘Songs in the Key of Life’. The tour will feature the artist performing the classic album in its entirety at every stop.

The tour begins in October in Birmingham, England, and includes performances in Paris, London, and several United States cities. North American stops include New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, and two shows in Detroit at the Fox Theatre. The tour is scheduled to conclude on December 19 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Originally released by Motown Records, ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ is considered a masterpiece of 20th-century music, featuring hits such as ‘Sir Duke’, ‘I Wish’, and ‘Isn’t She Lovely’. The album earned Wonder the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and is preserved in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
