Stevie Wonder announces 50th anniversary tour for iconic album

Stevie Wonder is embarking on an 18-date tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his landmark 1976 double album, ‘Songs in the Key of Life’. The tour, titled ‘Songs in the Key of Life Performances – 50th Anniversary Tour’, will feature the complete album and is scheduled to run from October 13 in Birmingham, UK, to December 19 in Los Angeles, USA.

In conjunction with the anniversary, Wonder has released a new EP titled ‘Songs in the Key of Life: The EP’, which contains four previously unreleased songs recorded during the original 1970s sessions: ‘It’s Easier’, ‘My Life Story of Love’, ‘I Can See the Sun in Late December’, and ‘I’m Into Livin’’.

Scandinavian dates include performances in Copenhagen at the Royal Arena on October 28, Oslo at Unity Arena on October 20, and Stockholm on October 22. The album originally marked a period of significant artistic independence for Wonder following a renegotiation of his Motown contract.
