Stip Clinical Hospital advances new emergency center construction
Construction of a new emergency center at the Clinical Hospital in Stip is nearing completion, with approximately 90 percent of building works finished. Vlado Zaharijev, the director of the hospital, stated that the next phase will involve equipping the facility with furniture, beds, and medical inventory.
The center is designed to serve as the primary entry point for patients from the entire eastern region, including Berovo and Pehchevo. Instead of requiring referrals for specific specialties, patients will undergo initial triage at the center. This system aims to provide faster medical care for critical patients by determining the necessary department for treatment immediately, bypassing the need to search for specific specialists manually.
The project, which was previously delayed due to a lack of staff and space, is being realized through the repurposing of the modular hospital into specialist outpatient clinics. Once operational, the center is expected to improve healthcare services for approximately 150,000 residents in the region.
