North Macedonia healthcare infrastructure development
Overview
North Macedonian officials are advancing various healthcare infrastructure projects across the country. In Skopje, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced that negotiations regarding the location for a new clinical center near the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center are expected to conclude by the end of 2024. This project aims to create an integrated healthcare complex by connecting new sites with existing hospitals and polyclinics. Additionally, the government is working to improve emergency services through the deployment of new ambulances.
In the eastern region, construction of a new emergency center at the Clinical Hospital in Stip is nearing completion, with approximately 90 percent of building works finished. Once operational, the center will serve as a primary triage point for approximately 150,000 residents, including those from Berovo and Pehchevo, to provide faster medical care for critical patients.
