STJD issues sanctions for São Paulo and Grêmio officials

The Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) has issued disciplinary sanctions against officials from São Paulo and Grêmio following a match in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

São Paulo's executive director, Rafinha, was sentenced to a 15-day suspension for disrespecting the officiating crew after the match. However, the penalty was converted into a warning, meaning he will not have to serve the suspension. The ruling was based on Article 258 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD).

Grêmio vice-president Rafael Hansen received a 20-day suspension and a R$ 500 fine for offenses against the honor of the referees. The incident occurred during halftime when Hansen aggressively approached the officiating team. Due to the length of the suspension, Hansen will be unable to accompany the Grêmio delegation during the first leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals against Internacional, though he is expected to be available for the second leg.
