Stockard Channing returns to red carpet for Practical Magic 2 premiere

Actress Stockard Channing made her first red carpet appearance in two years at the European premiere of ‘Practical Magic 2’ in London on August 26, 2026. The 82-year-old, known for her roles in ‘Grease’ and ‘The West Wing’, attended the event at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square alongside co-stars Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Dianne Wiest, Joey King, and Maisie Williams.

Channing’s return to the spotlight follows a recent essay in The Sunday Times where she described herself as being “happy being a recluse.” She explained that her lifestyle shifted significantly following the 2014 death of her longtime partner, cinematographer Daniel Gillham. This loss led her to move from Maine to London in 2019 to embrace a quieter life.

In the upcoming sequel to the 1998 film ‘Practical Magic’, Channing reprises her role as Aunt Frances Owens. The film is scheduled for release on September 10.
