Montenegro’s Stoliv Holds Sub‑Sea Cleanup for World Ocean Day

On June 7, 2024, at 17:00, volunteers gathered on the plaza in front of the Church of Our Lady in Stoliv, Montenegro, to clean the seabed of the Bay of Kotor as part of World Ocean Day. The event is part of the national “Čuvaj da te čuva” (Protect so it protects you) campaign.

The cleanup was organized by Heal Boka Bay, Caritas Kotorske, the Kotora Fishermen Association, Sail Club Lahor, Montenegro Dolphin Research, the local community of Stoliv, Čista Gora and the Children’s Ecological Movement Ljute Kamilice. The initiative targets increasing waste pollution in the coastal strip and marine environment of the UNESCO‑listed Bay of Kotor. Participants were invited to join, and a post‑action gathering was planned to strengthen cooperation and discuss future protection activities.
