Netflix announces release date for Stranger Things: Tales From '85 Season 2

Netflix has announced that the second season of the animated spin-off ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ will premiere on September 17, 2026. The announcement includes first-look images and details regarding the new plot.

Set chronologically between the events of the original series' second and third seasons, the new episodes follow the Hawkins Investigators Club—including Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Nikki—as they attempt to return to normalcy. However, a new supernatural threat emerges in the form of mysterious blue flowers appearing throughout Hawkins. Showrunner Eric Robles noted that these flowers contain a supernatural secret, a situation exacerbated when characters Nikki and Max attempt to sell them.

The season is expected to introduce new creatures known as ‘hate sprites,’ ghostly apparitions, and unexplored locations such as a mine beneath Hawkins. The production aims to expand the franchise's lore following the conclusion of the main live-action series.
