Street artists create new murals on residential buildings in Wernigerode

The Gebäude- und Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Wernigerode mbH (GWW) has launched a new street art initiative to revitalize residential areas in Wernigerode. International artists Alessio-B., Tony Gallo, and Giulia Yoshimura (also known as Mura) have created new works on building facades in the Stadtfeld and Burgbreite districts, including Kastanienwäldchen and Bert-Heller-Straße.

Alessio-B., an Italian artist previously noted for creating an 8 x 10 meter mural in the area, continues his involvement alongside Tony Gallo, whose work features colorful figures with human or animal traits. Giulia Yoshimura, a Brazilian artist based in Portugal, contributes works characterized by botanical motifs. The project aims to use art to foster identity and connection among residents, with GWW Managing Director Christian Zeigermann reporting positive feedback from the community during the week-long creative process.
