Structural fires reported in Manizales and Itagüí

Two separate structural fires were reported on Saturday, October 31, in the Colombian municipalities of Manizales and Itagüí.

In the Galán neighborhood of Manizales, specifically in the Las Marraneras sector, firefighters responded to a blaze that reportedly originated in a solid waste recycling area. The emergency resulted in preliminary reports of seven affected homes. The Manizales Risk Management Unit is conducting a census of those affected to coordinate humanitarian aid, while volunteer firefighters provided psychosocial support to impacted families.

In Itagüí, a structural fire was reported in the Playa Rica neighborhood. Witnesses observed dense columns of black smoke rising over residential areas. Emergency units were deployed to the scene to manage the situation, though official reports regarding the cause, the number of people affected, or the extent of material damage were not immediately available at the time of the report.
