Student Cultural Programs Highlight Heritage in Bolivia and Uruguay

In Oruro, Bolivia, 22 third‑semester students from the Universidad Privada de Oruro (Unior) presented archaeological and museological research on pre‑hispanic cultures at the Eduardo López Rivas Anthropological Museum. The exhibition, part of their final assessment for Archaeology and Museology, covered groups such as the viscachanis, wancaranis, chiripas, tiahuanacotas, Incas and Urus, and was attended by university and cultural officials.

Separately, about 25 gastronomy students from Uruguay’s UTU completed an educational visit to the historic Harriague winery in Salto. Guided by university staff and a government representative, the students learned about the winery’s history, the introduction of the Tannat grape, and the broader significance of viticulture to the region’s tourism and culture. The trip also included a stop at the Bertolini & Broglio winery.

Both activities aimed to deepen students’ practical knowledge of cultural heritage and food‑related industries while fostering connections between academic study and local traditions.
