Global search and rescue operations report multiple outdoor fatalities and accidents

Multiple search and rescue operations have been reported across various regions following outdoor accidents and extreme weather.

In Mendoza, Argentina, the body of 48-year-old mountaineer Esteban Sotelo was found at 4,000 meters in Quebrada La Angostura. Severe weather, including high winds and snow, has hindered efforts to recover his remains from the mountain.

In Mexico, heavy rains in Chihuahua led to several incidents, including flooding and the tragic death of a young man who was swept away by the current of the Chihuahua River in Parral.

Other notable incidents include a drowning in Alejandría, Colombia, involving a 20-year-old during a sporting event, and a rescue operation in Quito, Ecuador, where 17 people, including 12 children, were rescued after becoming disoriented on the Pichincha volcano.

In Spain, the Vero River area saw multiple rescues, including six canyoners who lost their way and a 78-year-old hiker who collapsed due to exhaustion.
