Student found dead in Gorontalo boarding house

Marcella Parioh, a 22-year-old third-semester student at Universitas Ichsan Gorontalo, was found dead in her boarding house room in the Dulalowo Timur neighborhood of Gorontalo City on Tuesday, August 24, 2026.

The discovery was made after the victim's parents reported they had been unable to contact her for a day. At the family's request, the boarding house owner broke down the locked door after receiving no response to repeated knocking.

Police Chief Ipda Danny Anugrah Musa stated that initial investigations found no signs of violence, theft, or other criminal activity at the scene. According to family accounts, the victim had a history of heart disease. The body has been transported to Aloe Saboe Hospital for further examination and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
