Student stabs teacher in classroom in Cametá, Pará

A female student attacked a mathematics teacher with a knife inside a public school in Cametá, Pará. The incident, which occurred on a Friday night at the Escola Doutor Gerson dos Santos Peres, was captured by classroom security cameras.

The footage shows the student pulling out a knife and striking the teacher, Bethânia Prestes, while she was seated and appearing to grade exams. During the struggle, the teacher attempted to defend herself and hold the student, resulting in her being injured and falling to the floor. She was subsequently taken to the Regional Hospital of Cametá.

Military Police arrived at the scene and apprehended the teenager, recovering the knife which the student had thrown into a classroom trash can. The Civil Police of Pará are investigating the circumstances of the assault, and the Tutelary Council has been called to monitor the case due to the perpetrator's status as a minor.
