Students compete in National School Floral Games in Puno

Students in the Puno region of Peru are participating in the UGEL stage of the 2026 National School Floral Games (Juegos Florales Escolares Nacionales). The competition features primary and secondary students engaging in various artistic disciplines to strengthen regional expression and cultural values.

In San Román, over 730 students are competing in categories including instrumental ensemble, solo singing, theater, school bands, urban dance, and traditional dance. The event also encompasses visual arts such as painting, sculpture, photography, poetry, and short audiovisual works. Winners from this stage will represent their local UGEL in the subsequent regional phase.

In Puno, the competition has seen significant participation from both public and private institutions, with recent focus on instrumental ensemble contests. Notable winners in the primary and secondary categories include I.E. Colber, I.E. Claudio Galeno, and I.E. Villa de Fátima, all of whom will advance to the regional stage.
