Students in Croatia celebrate Bread and Apple Days
Students at several primary schools in Croatia, including Petar Zrinski Šenkovec and Ljudevita Gaja in Nova Gradiška, recently held celebrations for Bread Days and Apple Days.
At the Petar Zrinski Šenkovec school and its Mačkovec branch, students engaged in hands-on activities such as kneading dough for pizza and traditional bread rolls, as well as preparing fruit salads and apple desserts. Educational activities included learning about the wheat growth process and dramatizing stories related to grain.
At the Ljudevita Gaja school in Nova Gradiška, the celebration featured poems, recitations, and skits focused on the importance of respecting food and avoiding waste. The program included musical performances and a message from local priest Mario Sanić, who spoke to the students about the importance of valuing meals and being mindful of global hunger.
