Students protest across Mexico over educational infrastructure and job placement

Students in Mexico are conducting widespread protests to demand better educational conditions and increased job opportunities. In Toluca, members of the National Federation of Revolutionary Students Rafael Ramírez (FNERRR), representing over 60 schools in the State of Mexico, demonstrated at the Government Palace. The group submitted a formal petition citing severe infrastructure deficiencies, noting that some certified institutions are forced to operate in improvised spaces such as old houses, party halls, and former dairy facilities.

In Morelia, Michoacán, a demonstration by students from the Escuela Normal Indígena de Michoacán (ENIM) escalated into violence. Protesters, some with faces covered, reportedly seized public transport buses and set fire to a food delivery truck. The unrest caused significant traffic disruptions and property damage before security forces and firefighters arrived to disperse the crowd. These students are demanding an increase in the number of teaching positions available to graduates.
