Brazilian cities expand school capacity and launch teacher training for new semester

Municipal education authorities in several Brazilian cities are expanding school capacity and strengthening teacher development as the second semester of 2026 begins. In Anápolis, the municipal network opened 539 new early‑education slots and added hundreds of additional places, while also advancing construction of a full‑time school for 455 students and renovating another for 780. Caucaia’s municipality completed structural renovations, upgraded furniture and provided food‑service training for school kitchen staff. Ubatuba continued its environmental education program, offering a series of four in‑person workshops for 123 teachers supported by a mobile teaching laboratory. Juramento held a professional development day covering school conduct, first‑aid, and mental‑health topics. Jaraguá do Sul and Uberlândia each welcomed more than 17,000 and 69,000 students respectively, pairing the return to classes with planning sessions and continued pedagogical projects. Across these locales, the initiatives aim to improve learning environments, increase enrollment opportunities, and enhance the quality of public education for thousands of students.
