Students win STEM competition with Green Future School concept

Seven primary school students from Negeri Sembilan won the NEXTGEN2050: Negeri Sembilan 2026 Digital STEM Camp held at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Rembau Campus. Their winning project, titled ‘Green Future School’, envisions a sustainable school environment for the year 2050.

The design incorporates wind turbines and solar panels to reduce energy consumption, alongside the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in conceptualizing future school needs. Group representative Muhamad Syazwan Najwan Mohd. Adri, 12, noted that while AI is a valuable tool for learning and generating ideas, it must be used responsibly.

The project competed against 74 other teams. In addition to the green school concept, the group also developed a food-dispensing robot and a cleaning robot.
