Stuntman Simone Moncada on his work in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Simone “Sinck” Moncada, a 28‑year‑old stunt performer, was born in Syracuse, Italy. Encouraged by his mother, he moved to London at 16 and earned a scholarship to the Laine Theatre Arts school, where he studied dance, singing and acting. After graduating he performed in West End productions and worked on various events, including Expo 2020 in Dubai, before transitioning to stunt work.

Moncada was recruited as a stunt performer for Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey. Over four months he worked on location in Greece, the Egadi and Aeolian Islands, and Scotland, helping to realise the film’s sea‑voyage and battle sequences that depict Odysseus’s journey. He describes the project as the most important of his career, noting that collaborating with Nolan has changed his perspective as both a stunt performer and a storyteller.
