Subhadeep Ghosh appointed India's new men's fielding coach

India's Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) announced that Subhadeep Ghosh, 57, will replace T Dilip as the men's fielding coach. Dilip, who served from November 2021 and oversaw two T20 World Cup wins and an ICC Champions Trophy, left after his contract was not renewed following the 2024‑25 Border‑Gavaskar series. Ghosh, previously the women's team fielding coach and former Assam senior‑men coach, joins the squad for the upcoming two‑Test series in Sri Lanka, with the first Test in Galle on 15 August and the second in Colombo on 23 August, preceded by a three‑day practice match from 7 August. The coaching change coincides with assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate’s departure to the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised Dilip as a “legend” and “workhorse” in a social‑media tribute.
