The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Subic seized approximately 98.332 kilograms of kush, valued at an estimated ₱162 million, from a distressed sailing yacht at the Subic Bay Yacht Club.
The vessel, which had traveled from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and was originally destined for Taiwan, sought emergency shelter and repairs due to inclement weather. Following intelligence reports regarding potential contraband, authorities conducted an inspection of the yacht, which was manned by Thai and Malaysian crew members.
The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Law Enforcement Department, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Department of Justice. The seized substances have been placed under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for legal processing.
