Suceava selected as Romania's Youth Capital for 2028
The municipality of Suceava has been named the Youth Capital of Romania for 2028. The decision was announced on Saturday, October 24, 2026, during the Youth Summit 11 held in Alba Iulia.
Suceava emerged as the winner from a final selection process that included Brașov and Mediaș. This edition of the competition saw a record number of candidacies. A new element introduced for the 2028 cycle was the ‘Youth Voice’ mechanism, where a 24-member jury composed exclusively of young people from all eight development regions of Romania evaluated the projects and video materials.
As the winner, Suceava will receive a 50,000 euro prize provided by Banca Comercială Română. The title also grants the city the opportunity to host the 2028 Youth Summit, along with professional mentorship and support to implement its proposed programs aimed at addressing the needs of the younger generation.
