Suceava named Romania Youth Capital 2028

Overview

The competition for the title of Romania's Youth Capital 2028 has concluded, with Suceava officially named the winner. The announcement was made on Saturday, October 24, 2026, during the 11th Youth Summit held in Alba Iulia.

Suceava emerged as the victor following a final selection process that included the other two finalists, Brașov and Mediaș. This competition cycle saw record participation, with ten cities initially entering the race. A notable feature of this edition was the ‘Youth Voice’ mechanism, involving a 24-member jury of young people from all eight development regions of Romania who evaluated project proposals and video materials.

As the winner, Suceava will receive the 2028 title, a 50,000 euro prize provided by Banca Comercială Română (BCR), and the responsibility of hosting the 2028 Youth Summit. The city will also receive professional mentorship and support to implement programs designed to address the needs of the younger generation.
