Suchy Las Municipality Introduces Hedgehog Warning Signs

The Gmina Suchy Las (near Poznań, Poland) plans to install new "Uwaga jeże" (Hedgehog Warning) road signs to alert drivers to areas where hedgehogs frequently cross. The initiative follows resident suggestions and aims to identify migration routes that intersect county roads. Local environmental officials will use the information to select sites for the signs, which are intended to improve animal safety and raise driver awareness.

Residents can contribute by completing an online questionnaire available through the municipality’s mMieszkaniec portal or via a dedicated website. Submissions are accepted until the end of July, after which the council will finalize the locations for the signage.
