Sud chiama Nord defends national pact with Fratelli d’Italia

Political tensions have risen in Sicily following discussions regarding the national agreement between the Sud chiama Nord movement and Fratelli d’Italia. Danilo Lo Giudice, the regional coordinator for Sud chiama Nord, addressed criticisms from various center-left forces, including Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra (AVS) and Progetto Civico-Controcorrente.

Lo Giudice argued that these political groups are focusing on attacks rather than building a viable government proposal for the Sicilian Region. He clarified that the national pact with Giorgia Meloni’s party does not alter Sud chiama Nord’s current position in Sicily, where the movement remains in opposition to President Renato Schifani. Additionally, Lo Giudice suggested that Cateno De Luca should participate in any upcoming center-left primaries to select a candidate for the regional presidency.
