Sudan accuses Ukrainian military personnel of fighting for RSF militia
Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem has alleged that Ukrainian military personnel are fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). In an interview with RIA Novosti, Salem stated that the government has captured and killed several Ukrainian snipers and instructors, and has also seized weapons linked to them.
Salem claimed that the involvement of Ukrainian, Colombian, and other foreign citizens in the conflict is “absolutely irrefutable,” noting that international research institutions, including Yale University, have reportedly confirmed these findings.
The ongoing civil war in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has resulted in a massive humanitarian crisis. According to the UNHCR, nearly 12 million people are displaced, including 7.3 million internally displaced persons and 4.5 million refugees who have fled to neighboring countries such as Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan.
