Sudan army reports destroying 141 RSF combat vehicles as survivors file war‑crimes case in Kenya

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced that operations since June 1 have destroyed a total of 141 combat vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia across Darfur, Kordofan, White Nile and Blue Nile regions, killed dozens of fighters and seized weapons and ammunition. The statement said a major fuel depot and several ammunition and drone‑ammunition depots were also destroyed, and an RSF drone was shot down over Kenana.

Separately, twelve former detainees filed a criminal complaint in Nairobi under Kenya’s International Crimes Act, seeking prosecution of RSF members for torture, rape, forced sexual slavery and extrajudicial killings committed in Sudan since the conflict began in April 2023. Kenyan prosecutors must decide whether to open an investigation, a step that would mark the first use of Kenya’s universal‑jurisdiction law against the Sudanese militia. The case follows earlier African precedent such as the trial of former Chadian dictator Hissène Habré in Senegal.
