Sudan denies Chadian accusations of drone strikes on its territory

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected accusations from Chad that the Sudanese Armed Forces carried out drone strikes against a military convoy inside Chadian territory. The Ministry expressed surprise at these allegations, stating they were made “before any professional and independent investigation” could be conducted. Sudan emphasized its full respect for Chadian sovereignty, territorial integrity, and borders, advocating for direct dialogue to resolve any security or border disputes.

Simultaneously, Sudan criticized the international community for its silence regarding drone attacks launched from within Ethiopia targeting Sudanese territory. The Ministry claimed to possess “conclusive evidence” of these repeated incursions, noting that the most recent attack occurred on a Thursday morning. The Sudanese military also reported the downing of a strategic enemy drone in the Blue Nile state, marking the third such incident in recent days.

These developments follow growing concerns from the African Union and the United States regarding the potential for the ongoing Sudanese civil war to spill over into neighboring countries, specifically Chad and Ethiopia.
