Sudan: Five killed in alleged RSF drone strike on university dormitory

At least five civilians were killed and 47 others wounded following an alleged drone strike on a student dormitory at the University of Kordofan in El Obeid, according to the Sudan Doctors Network.

The medical group accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out the attack on October 1. The network stated that such strikes on educational facilities and student housing represent a “worrying escalation” in attacks on civilian infrastructure and may constitute violations of international humanitarian law.

El Obeid has experienced repeated drone strikes in recent months. The Sudan Doctors Network has called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to investigate these incidents, provide emergency medical assistance, and ensure accountability for attacks on civilian sites.
