Sudan market drone strike kills 11 civilians

A drone attack on a market in North Kordofan, Sudan, on Saturday killed 11 civilians and injured dozens more, according to a human‑rights group. Witnesses said a second drone later hit a fuel station in the regional capital El‑Obeid, where four more civilians were taken to hospital.

The attacks occurred in an area controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) amid an intensifying drone war in Sudan. The United Nations estimates that at least 880 civilians have been killed by drone strikes nationwide from January to April, and roughly 70 people died in two drone attacks in West and North Kordofan last week. The broader conflict has displaced more than 11 million people and sparked a severe humanitarian crisis across the country.
