Sudanese army strikes RSF command centers in Nyala

Sudan civil war Rapid Support Forces Nyala airstrikes South Darfur Sudanese Army

The Sudanese army has conducted airstrikes against Rapid Support Forces (RSF) command centers and positions in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur. According to Ahmed Ishaq Shanab, the Darfur regional government spokesman, the strikes caused significant losses in RSF personnel and equipment. The army reported that the operations killed dozens of fighters and destroyed several command hubs.

In response, the RSF accused the army of conducting a drone strike on a livestock market in Nyala that caused civilian casualties, though these claims have not been independently verified.

Separately, the family of a trader, Saif al-Din Mohamed, reported that RSF fighters intercepted and detained Mohamed and his friend, Abdo Mohamed, while traveling from Bileil to Nyala. The family stated that Mohamed was held for approximately 55 days before being located at Dagris prison, while his friend's whereabouts remain unknown.
