Sudan's Rapid Support Forces Expand Control, Seize Contraband Amid Drone Strikes

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced that they captured the Surkum area near Sali in Sudan's Blue Nile region, presenting videos of seized army vehicles. Simultaneously, the RSF reported seizing illegal weapons, counterfeit currency and contraband in Ad‑Daein, East Darfur, as part of a wider anti‑smuggling operation.

Drone attacks attributed to the RSF hit a fuel station in Kosti, White Nile, killing at least one civilian and injuring several others, and another strike struck Umm Rawaba in North Kordofan. The Sudan Doctors Network documented civilian casualties and condemned the targeting of public facilities. The fighting has displaced tens of thousands of people, with the International Organization for Migration reporting nearly 60,000 displaced in the Blue Nile region since January.
