Suhyup Central Federation donates 10 million won to Yeosu community

Noh Dong-jin, Chairman of the Suhyup Central Federation, donated 10 million won to the Jeonnam Social Welfare Community Chest to support vulnerable groups in Yeosu. The funds were generated through the ‘Yeosu Love Fixed Deposit and Savings’ product, a public interest financial instrument designed to return profits to local communities.

The product was sold for two months starting April 1 across eight local Suhyup branches in Yeosu. For every account opened, the Suhyup Central Federation contributed 3,000 won, resulting in a total donation of 10 million won. The initiative saw significant local participation, with 3,394 accounts opened and total sales exceeding 100 billion won.

Chairman Noh stated that the donation signifies how customer interest in specialized savings products can be directly channeled back into community support. He expressed a commitment to expanding ‘win-win finance’ models that foster mutual growth between cooperatives, customers, and local communities.
