Suicide Car Bomb Strikes Military Train in Quetta, Pakistan, Killing at Least 20

A suicide car bomb detonated at a railway station in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province, targeting a train carrying military personnel and their families on the eve of Eid al‑Adha. The blast overturned several carriages, set them on fire and caused heavy civilian casualties. Official figures vary, with one report citing at least 24 dead and more than 50 injured, while another for a similar timeframe reported 20 fatalities, including three soldiers, and about 70 wounded.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group active in the region, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was aimed at the Pakistani state’s presence in Balochistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing, stating: "Tindakan terorisme pengecut seperti itu tidak dapat melemahkan tekad rakyat Pakistan," adding that the nation stands in solidarity with the people of Balochistan.
